গঙ্গা/পদ্মা নদীর পানি বণ্টন চুক্তি সংক্রান্ত তথ্যাদি

  • The Ganges Water Sharing Treaty between India and Bangladesh was signed in 1996 for a period of 30 years. The treaty has been implemented for a period of five months (January to May) in every year since 1997. The current treaty will be expired in 2026.
  • As per existing treaty the total available flow of the Ganges at Farakka is being shared by the two countries according to the formula provided in Annexure-I of the treaty as below:

Subject to the condition that India and Bangladesh each shall receive guaranteed 35,000 cusecs of water in alternate three 10-day periods during the period March 11 to May 10.
